I’ve needed a new Bible cover & this one does the job well. My Bible is gray & turquoise blue & I didn’t even think about that when I ordered this turquoise blue & black case. I also didn’t measure first but lucked out as this is just the right size for my most frequently used Bible.The cover is engraved with Psalm 118:6, "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear.” That’s an important verse in my life right now as my husband is retiring & we’re setting off on new adventures. I find comfort in it.The zipper pull is engraved with the cross of Jesus & the end of the zipper was a little stiff at first. The handle is on the spine of the case so it needs to be completely closed before picking it up by the handle. That’s different than the one I now have that has the handles on the opposite side. I usually pick it up without zipping it. After the first time or two dumping my Bible on the ground, I should learn!The inside of the carrying case has a loop on each side to hold pens or highlighters. The left side is lined with a mesh pocket sewn onto the slip pocket. The right side is lined with only a slip pocket. There are no pockets on the outside of the case. This case is reinforced with something like cardboard to keep its shape. The material is PU leather, otherwise known as polyurethane leather. It’s an artificial leather made of thermoplastic polymer & is considered vegan & is completely artificial. This doesn’t look like leather & doesn’t smell of chemicals but it should wear well. It also isn’t priced like leather would be.I like it & I think it’ll hold up well.
