I am so happy I bought this!I have had episodes of depression in years past and had been prescribed medication, which worked, but with unwanted side effects. This Fall, instead of beautiful days and a burst of Indian Summer, it was rainy and dark for days on end. It seemed that we were sentenced to endure this dreariness until next Spring and that brought the dark and twisty thoughts of depression back to the surface. I knew that I wanted to avoid medication if I could. I looked online, into supplements and couldn’t decided which were right for my situation or what company to trust. My sister has used light therapy for years for seasonal depression and I figured it was as good as place as any for my DIY treatment.When looking for a product, Verilux was a name I recognized. I was looking for something I could use at my small kitchen table and I didn’t want to spend a great deal of money for what essentially was an experiment. However, I was concerned that if I went with the least expensive model I found, in any brand, that it wouldn’t have the quality needed to do the job. If that happened, I could possibly miss out on a useful therapy based on the poor performance of an inferior product.I have been using this light each morning for a bit over 3 weeks. I worked up to 30 minutes on the lower intensity and now am working on the higher of the 2 intensities. It sits close to me, at somewhat of an angle, while I enjoy my coffe or breakfast and check my email, FB, etc. on my iPad each morning before work. I can definitely report that the depression and anxiety I was suffering has lifted and I am enjoying a better mood and increased energy. While I understand that there could be a placebo effect, I will take it! I plan on using this throughout the winter. I have always believed we are all solar powered and this device recharges me!
