It's true, there are no instructions on how to install. The most important thing is this: the straight side always to the window. The curved side to the frame. Also: in order not to have any open edges, the length of the straight side should equal to the total circumference of the window. My window is a crank open to the outside and it's a 24x48. This one is actually longer then my window size, so I have an overlap, but it's OK. I started attaching on the side opposite to the opening side and in the middle of the window frame length. You can see on my pictures on what it looks like. I love that they included the cutout for the exhaust attachment and you can tighten that with the 2 attached strings with the stopper. Once tightened, there is no air leak around the exhaust unlike with the ones that only have a zipper to use. If they included instructions to the possible window opening scenarios, this product would be awesome. It's still awesome though. got years I didn't think I can have a portable unit due to my window opening to the outside, but this solved that problem
