Great for safety but very bright
I clip this onto myself when running in the dark in the winter. It is great for making myself and the surrounding area more visible, but it is also incredibly bright. It actually does blind people walking by a bit, so it is probably not the best for crowded areas.It does have a red light option, which isn't as blindingly bright.
