This item was much larger than I thought it would be. it is a little too big for my 4 month old and there are not enough chewy parts. Only the blue and purple parts are chewable. One reviewer commented on the twisting aspect of the toy. my son also doesn't like how it twists into an 8 and then he can't figure out how to untwist it to continue chewing. We will be putting this toy away until he has a little more fine motor skills.Nov 13 2015:Checking in again now that my baby is 7 months. He does like this toy now and the twisting aspect keeps him entertained as he tries to figure out how to untwist it. He has not hurt himself or pinched himself due to the twisting as another review mentioned. He has hit himself with it though and it is made out of hard plastic with the exception of the blue and the purple parts. One thing I have found I don't like it that if you wash it, water gets inside. You can only wipe this toy clean and I like to boil most of his toys or at least rinse it under running water.
