Cute but was not great for sun protection.

Personally, I definitely got burned while wearing this. The hat is cute and I love wearing it, but it does not offer substantial sun protection. Light shows through the weave and my bright red sunburned cheeks after wearing it for an hour outdoors confirm that it does not do much to block sunlight. If you are looking to protect your skin, look elsewhere. I was disappointed because the item is described as UPF 50 (which is very sun protective) but that did not match my experience when wearing it. It is however very cute and I will wear it again for style. along with some serious sunscreen lotion.
