I ordered this coat at the last minute for a trip to Minneapolis. It is well made but I did not find it to be exceptionally warm. If you have the hood on, scarf around neck, and zipped all the way up, it works pretty well. It did not keep out the wind as much as I was expecting. Its cute but it looks just like all the other coats the women were wearing. One thing that would be better would be to have a couple of more snaps for the faux fur to attach better with no gaps. I am keeping it because I already wore it. Will use for my everyday coat and get another. As far as size. I got a medium and it fit perfectly in the shoulders. I have narrow shoulders. I did not wear anything heavy underneath so I'm not sure about how well this would fit with a heavy sweater. I wear small in tops or a size 4.
