Easy to tell if a wire has been wire nutted, especially with stranded wire. Definitely used! Not going to waste my time installing. Since all the materials in the package except for the actual dimming unit were new I can only assume seller repackaged a returned unit.That said, I have purchased six of the same unit under different names and the failure rate has been about 20%. I purchased this unit to replace a 3 month old unit that just failed. If starting over again I would look for a different design/type. However the wifi/Alexa selection is rather limited.
