I’ve had several different kinds of ankle weights. The kind with individual slots for metal bars could be very uncomfortable but a small rip in the outside fabric/material meant nothing and could be repaired however you wanted really. The kind with sand sewn inside were generally more comfortable, but as soon as you got a rip you basically had to throw the whole thing away.These are nice because they are sand, but the sand is in individual nylon pouches, so a rip on the exterior of the weight doesn’t mean you’re leaking sand and presumably if you managed to rip or lose one of the pouches you could replace it. They don’t look any sturdier than some of my old sand weights, but should they tear, my patch job needn’t be so good that sand can’t escape. My only complaint is that the rough part of the Velcro is facing out from the main body of the weight (as opposed to being on the strap and facing in when worn) so it can get caught on clothes, furniture, etc, or collect debris more easily.Overall I’m very happy with them.
