When painting the calipers on my new car, some of the epoxy paint got into some of the threads. Epoxy paint is tough stuff and just starting the bolts took a lot of effort meaning the bolts could not be properly torqued. A wire brush didn't even "dent" he paint. So I needed either a thread chaser or tap. Believing in go big or go home, I opted for this tap and extreme care to not let it remove metal.Obviously, I can't say anything about how well it would hold up to repeated use.
