Absolutely perfect! Buy it for your newborn! My niece was born in the cold winter and none of those pretty cloth hats would stay on her little head, neither did it keep her warm. We only had one beanie hat and it was the one the hospital gave them. If you are looking for a beanie type of hat similar to the ones the hospital gives, this is the way to go!
