When I first decided to try out the Weruva B.F.F. cat food I had missed one of the description photos of what the food actually looked like. Imagine my surprise when I assumed it would look like most cat foods and was about to dump contents in as if it was solid only to see liquid spilling. Luckily I caught myself before pouring entire contents into his plate. I went and got a bowl instead and examined the contents,I was taken aback by how liquidly this food was. I've experienced many different cat foods with gravy, they're usually not 90% gravy, but more like 10%. Also liquidy foods tend to come in light colored plastic containers so that it's visible to the consumer. I never seen them in tin cans before. A few sniff tests told me it appeared fresh & not overly gross in scent. I like knowing the moisture content will be high to keep him well hydrated. However still skeptic that my cat would actually like this new texture, at 7 years old he doesn't really need his food overly soft. However, I think I will keep this brand in mind for when he ages. Sure enough he noticed the vast difference in texture & cautiously inspects his newfound dinner. It took but a few seconds before he realized this was what he was going to eat and there was no other bowl comingHe then proceeded to take the plunge & lapped it all up.Now that I know he likes this, I will be adding it to his regular more solid food little by little so his stomach can get used to it. I will be using this as a topper. Then when he gets older I'll consider this brand for when he will require softer foods.I'm happy to learn that BFF cat foods is derived from cage free chickens, is gluten, carrageenan & grain free. I'm not thrilled with some if the ingredients such as Guar gum, mononitrate & choline, but satisfied actual protein is listed & not just protein parts. I'm also happy to learn that this is a family owned business of 10yrs, they use sustainable ingredients, all tuna is dolphin & sea turtle safe.I can't get enough of those labels on these cans, aren't they really cute? I love how they're brightly colored & with colorful pictures of a cat, little girl, rainbows & butterflies. At the time of this review, the price is not listed so I can't comment on pricing. I think this is a good choice for older cats or finicky cats as it triggers their natural instinct to slurp as if it were a bowl of milk. I would recommend it.
