I don't use it for plants at all.I use these glass globes for storing snacks in them.I like the fact that the counter is not crowded this way and is so much easier to clean vs picking up each container to clean underneath as I had to do before I came up with the "hang them" idea.I wish I could hang all of the chairs and the sofa for easier vacuuming now :)The globes are a very sturdy, we have been heavily using them for a fair amount of time now and manged to break just one when dear daughter seriously banged it into the wall (and anything would break in this situation).I had many glass containers for snacks before (I found that my kids eat food better if it is stored in glass + looks more appealing) and just trust me that this is durable.
