I purchased for the color as well as for the wind resistance properties of the garment. The fleece is thin so don't expect much insulation or warmth from this. In fact, if you are out in the mountains of Payson, AZ, expect to wear a Columbia (or equivalent) fleece underneath it. If fits slightly larger than expected, so you should be able to layer up with this vest. It is also water resistant. The green color is very close to a military dark olive color, but the orange lanyards on the zippers are an odd color choice.
