We have a regulation Bocce ball set that we love using during the Summer and Fall when the weather permits outdoor activities. So, when Winter and Spring hit, the set lives in our closet. That set is contained in a nice carry case, but is incredibly heavy!While browsing through Walmart (killing time), I happened across this travel set and immediately had a few ideas! I tossed it into the cart and awaited delivery. Shipping was very quick and packaging was minimal (and recyclable). The set contains 4 sets of 2 bocce balls, 1 pallino, a really nifty bag to store everything in, a measuring tape, and instructions. Everything feels great to the touch and the bag looks and feels very well made. I was actually a little surprised to feel such heft to the miniature bocce balls. but in a good way. Once contained in the cary bag, this is easy to throw in the back of the car or store anywhere as it is still quite light.So - as crazy as it seems. My first initial thought was having this minature/travel set to play indoors (away from glass!). We have relatively dense carpeting in the great room and a large open area that I thought would be great to have 'mini' championships. and it did not disappoint. The smaller, lighter bocce balls are perfect for close range playing and maintain the thrill and disappointment tangled into the game. We have had an absolute blast playing this indoors. but would absolutely recommend clearing the area of anything breakable just in case. As for outdoors, I think this would work well on a very short lawn or sandy beach. honestly, anywhere that has little to no ground clutter. Since the balls are lighter than regulation and a lot smaller, they can be easy to lose and/or hard to 'bounce' if there is too much resistance.If you are a fan of Bocce Ball, or maybe just discovering it. this is an absolutely wonderful little investment with tons of entertainment options available. The cost is on point for the quality and construction of the materials. I am so glad we purchased this set and look forwards to many, many more games in the future!
