It just hinders the development of bacteria, both good and bad, for example, eye diseases in fish. I poured water under the stiffening ribs, so the bubbles burst under the glass (you can see in the photo) an order of magnitude quieter, although now large bubbles burst when they float out from under the glass, you need to put some kind of diffuser, smaller bubbles are not audible. and there will be no dirt and bacterial outbreaks in the upper corners. and the bottom of the ribs under water.
