A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

The key benefit it has over electronic thermometers is that it measures temperature with the same accuracy as a mercury thermometer (but considerably more slowly). There is a huge benefit over mercury thermometers. There won't be any hazardous vapors released by the mercury microdroplets that are dispersed throughout the flat if it breaks.
Cons of it:
descends a little. You must hold for a minimum of five minutes in order to measure the temperature. These are drawbacks in comparison to a mercury thermometer, but they are not, in my opinion, serious ones.
