I noticed that some people reported that their weights looked "dirty" and "scuffed up" when they arrived at their house but my weights were boxed very nicely and in perfect working order. I am a 43 year old woman who is just getting back into exercising. I typically walk for about 30 minutes on my treadmill then I do some light weights training with these. I can't imagine I will ever need more than what this product offered.It comes with a nice little brochure with examples of exercises you can do with your weights. You can also google around for more. I generally work out my arms and legs using these weights. I haven't purchased a weight bench yet and I am able to do all of the recommended exercises they recommend.I would suggest you start out at a weight you can tolerate then gradually add more weight from there. It is very easy to get the weights on and off the bar and to convert it from a bar to free weights. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.
