Yes, it was hard to get the bottom off and the fact that it had been commented on before gave me some direction how to screw it off. I have lubricated the threads so I won't have the same problem again. One caution about this, however, is to use a bare minimum of lub because it wouldn't be good to get it on the battery contacts. The light is sturdy and appears to be durable.I'm very happy with the physical aspects of it. It has a quality appearance. And bright, yes it's bright, and that is what I was looking for. It also gives off a very good 360 degree of illumination. I also like the ease of lowering or raising the intensity of the light. It's neet how they stored a hanger in the handle.
