I needed a long sleeve shirt alternative for sun protection that could be worn in summer without being too hot and uncomfortable. I burn easy and wanted to try an alternative to sunscreen lotions for fishing, bicycling, and grass cutting. Tried it first time fishing for about 4 hours in the sun and no sun penetration evident on my arms while remaining very comfortable in the heat (albeit only 80 degrees so far). I'm sure it is a little warmer than wearing short sleeves; however, the fabric is very light weight and seems to wick and breath well. Price is good and added bonus of a secure zipper pocket on right side is a great addition (zipper pockets are far superior to velcro to ensure nothing falls out during activity). I also purchased one with a hoody but haven't tried it out yet. After only this first usage I have decided to purchase several more shirts. Hopefully they hold up to wash cycles in the future as I expect to be wearing them all summer long.
