If our ten year old stubborn bulldog can learn to use this any dog can! It took roughly twenty minutes total to teach him all together. Everytime he went out we would take his paw and apply pressure to the fountain and say, "paw”. We did lessen the pressure at first of the spout so it wouldn’t shoot too high in his face. The first two days we put his paw on it so he could drink, day 3 I’d pick up his paw over the fountain and let him drop his paw and apply pressure. After 4 days of doing this he walked out and did it himself! If you live in a warm climate this is clutch! No more slimy water bowls! Good luck and don’t give up!
