It's a good thermometer for the freezer or refrigerator. At first I was disappointed when the display on one of the two units we received started to go in and out. I thought it might be a dying battery and was disappointed it was draining so quickly when the other unit was still fine. Replacing the battery requires that you open up the back cover by removing four very small screws. I had the necessary small screwdriver, but I wouldn't be surprised if many people don't. But once I opened the back cover, I saw that the battery was falling out of the holder. It's a slight piece of tin. So I pushed the battery back in place and then used a flat edge screwdrivers to bend the tin a little more at the edge to better hold the battery. Works fine now. When you close the back cover, don't forget to make sure that the temperature sensor is poking into the tin hole on the back to get the most accurate reading.
