Wow. I’m actually really surprised by the quality of this product. I just wanted a home bench because of the gym closures. Literally, the day after I received this bench NYC said gyms will he reopening soon. I don’t plan on going back in the near future, so this thing will be getting its value tested!Anyway. The bench is fully assembled upon arrival (minus the stinky foam pads for the foot rest).It’s easy to figure out how to fold up ( 10 inches at the lowest point when folded together and 13 inches at the highest point), great value for the money and has been used 4 times this week and no problems yet.Obviously if anything changes, I’ll edit the review.4 star (I’d actually give 4.5 if it was available) only for 1) the stinky padding of the foot rest and 2) the fact that the foot rest does not actually lock into place.I would have preferred it better had the foot rest either been stuck in one position or had a mechanism to lock it in place. It moves a bit if you actually try to use it for leverage.Example: sitting up after doing decline work, I tried to anchor my feet under the foot rest to help pull my bodyweight back up. Since it’s not a fixed foot rest, there is some give in the hinge, so you should support yourself with hands on the bench or tightly grip with the backs of your knees as well.I’ll also mention that I’ve been using this only unilaterally, (Highest dumbbell- 50 lbs / 22 kg) so I can’t really comment on how well it handles it’s suggested maximum load, as I’ve not tested that yet.
