It does keep things cold for a very long time and it keeps my coffee hot longer than any other travel item. The reason it didn’t get 5 stars is it only fits in 1 out of 5 vehicles, it doesn’t fit on the top rack of the dishwasher, and the metal straws are super cold if ya try to drink your smoothly or shake from it. Think of "a Christmas Story” and the tongue sticking to the metal pole; same freeze concept here, ouch! No offense it’s a nice idea but the ends should be a plastic or rubber or something that doesn’t let your mouth stick to it!So I’ll try to remember to come back here and give you the measurements of the base so you can see if it fits your car for travel otherwise it just isn’t designed for travel, also one persons car had their nav system above their holder and the buttons stuck out, these were too tall to fit! In general if you have adjustable cup holders and nothing 12” ( you have to lift it in and out of the holder) above sticking out, your going to love these, otherwise you may not have that same experience.
