In a world where we make things cheaper to try to make more money there's a point where you just go too far. Most Ikea stuff is fine the first time it's assembled if it's not moved for example. I buy commercial restaurant tables because they've always made great work surfaces - they're sturdy, solid and will last.This is not that. Not even close. It's so cheap and poorly constructed it actually is impressive in it's cheapness.The legs and top are so thin I've never actually seen material this thin in any product and I have no idea how you get material this thin in tube form and I work as a fabricator/machinist and order tube all the time. None of my suppliers offer material this thin. Like I said - it was a lot of work to make this so cheap. No corners were cut to cut the corners.These tubes are .013 or 13 thousandths. A piece of paper is 4 thou so these legs are just three times the thickness of paper. One good bump and they will crumple like tinfoil. To give you a point of reference the legs are as thick as a business card. And not much stronger. The top has to be supported by an internal base because the stainless is too thin to support anything. The welds are horrible - my 10 year old daughter welds better. Lastly the fit is horrible. Where the legs are supposed to nest is the wrong shape so the legs won't fit. I fixed the cutouts with a grinder.Right now I have my 90lb commercial mixer on this and it wobbles like jello. Normally I'd weld braces or just reinforce the table to make it work but this is so damn cheap that the materials it's made from are irredeemable. Nothing will make this better but buying a real table.On the up side the casters are decent quality.
