Update:I recently washed my cream colored shams and although the outside looked perfect afterwards, the inside shredded all over my washer and dryer and left a bumpy, rough texture inside the sham. So I decided to just buy a new set since they are good value for the money. The new ones, however, are a very different color (a light taupe) compared to the previous ones (cream). The new ones will go with some of my quilts, but not the others so I guess I'll have to put the old ones back into the rotation after all. I wish there were more color options, especially for light colors. (Note: I also have a set in dark brown which I use during the winter months that I am happy with. Just not sure now about washing them. Maybe I'll have to do it by hand.)Very pleased with these pillow shams. They are a good color match for the light golden microflannel sheets and patchwork quilt I use in the winter. Because the opening is in the very center back, it is a bit of a challenge to get the pillow in, but once that is done, they fit perfectly and do not gape (unlike my previous shams which I had to pin closed). The fabric is soft and handsomely stitched/quilted on the front. I liked them so much that I bought another set in a different color. I feel confident in recommending them to others.
