My senior Shih Tzu have 12-12.5” neck but have short legs so I decided to get the Medium size and it fits her neck just fine and perfect height for walking, eating, sleeping. I like it that it is lightweight and it’s ready to wear. I have been working from home since COVID and I didn’t see her chew on her stitches but she did. I had to take her to the Vet to see if she need to get her stitches re-done. Thankfully she didn’t. For sure, she preferred this over the traditional cone from the Vet. Comfort wise it’s a 5 star.Fast forward, 2 weeks later, my 12 lb Yorkie got neutered. He’s got 11” neck and medium also fits him good. However, he can reach his sutures with little effort. And he is a puppy and very determined. So, I purchased a second one, the large size. He is currently wearing both the medium and the large together. He is also wearing a onesies as another layer of protection from chewing. For now, it appears to be holding up.The neck adjuster/cord is a safety concern for me. He maybe able to reach it to chew then swallow. I tucked in with the hope he won’t be able to mouth it or reach it with his paws.
