Update 12/15/2019. We now have purchased 3 sets of these and every candle worked and continues to work. We also assumed (reading reviews+ here) that there was no auto-on feature. There is! At least in the versions we purchased on 11/30, 12/4, 12/10/2019. Practice with 1 candle. Hit OFF. Hit On. Hit FLF. Hit 4H. That's it. Pause a few seconds between button presses. Also, the candle must blink twice to acknowledge receiving the command, else press again. There seems to be a lot of confusion on whether or not there is a 24 hour auto ON or not. For all 3 sets for us, they have the auto-ON. Once we set them, come on again automatically every night at the time we first programmed them.My wife is very happy with these, especially compared to the cheapo dollar store kind where you have to manually screw or unscrew the bulb to turn each off or on. Granted, the remote control is a little finicky and all candles in the nearby radius do not respond to every command. It's OK though, as generally you can just press the button you want multiple times until they're all in that mode. Maybe I need to practice more. Yes, it would be nice if they could have an accurate 24-hour builtin timer to automatically turn on and off at a programmed time, and then you need a way to set the current date and time. ++$$$$. They work well enough, as is. My wife asked me to order her another set after about 3 minutes. Looks like the candles can easily come out of the provided holders and put placed in other standard candle holders if desired.
