Bernat is my go-to brand, particularly the Baby sport big ball yarn, for quality and value for the many baby blankets I have made for friends, relatives and charities. I can usually source locally at the big box stores the usual pink and blue, but have to "hunt" for more unusual colors such as lavender or blossom. No matter the color, this yarn wears like iron, washes and dries well repeatedly without shrinkage or pulling and my blankets last for years (so I'm told). The only annoying part sometimes is finding where the yarn begins, and can result in pulling out a large chunk of the center before finging the end.
