One you have the proper sealing gaskets (rubber "square" rings), this valve seals and works great. I had to go thru my inventory to find another sq.ring PLUS I needed to flat-file the end of the (my) chrome pipe to remove any burrs. The issue here is that shower heads in the USA are meant to accept 1/2" NPT (pipe thread). This diverter's thread pitch is the same, but it doesn't seal with thread tape (used for NPT), because NPT is tapered. Plus NPT doesn't care about a burr at the end of the pipe. But the valve's action is easy, smooth, finish is great, AND I can get BOTH the shower head and the hand-held to flow together, if you set the valve in-between both extremes. My lady just loves the flow and variety that both heads give us now!Bought this again this summer of 2022. Awesome valve that makes our outdoor shower become "dual heads". I think the finish and labeling is even better than the older one I bought!
