It does turn off after 24 hours, but.

As I said. It does turn off after 24 hours, but, the app allows you to set a schedule. I have mine scheduled to turn off at 3:45 pm and turn on at 4:00 on Auto. Allows the unit to cool down, and come back up in 15 minutes with no problem. The oscillation on this thing is clutch. I'd recommend it.
