This kit is well-desiged, with nice details like the separate bathroom and 5 lights which run under the upper floor inside a pre-cut groove. The directions are in English and are better than some of the others I've built where I've had to figure out so much of it on my own. Written directions are not imperative after building 10 of these but illustrations are. I sometimes add or change elements anyway. If it's your first kit, take your time, be patient and use a good quality clear glue like Beacon 3-in-1 that dries quickly and is thick enough to hold pieces together as it dries. I also use spray adhesive to glue the wallpaper and floors to the structural pieces so they'll be smooth. I would tackle a smaller project to start before moving on to one with 2 stories and 5 lights. The result is worth the effort, which for me averages 20 hours. I wouldn't recommend any of these kits for kids. You can't play with them and they're challenging even for adults. They're all 1:24 scale, which is considerably smaller than average dollhouses. You will build virtually everything out of paper and the pre-cut wooden furniture pieces so if you don't have the dexterity to work with very small things then these may not be for you.
