I used to ride mountain bike exclusively clipped in. On my new e mountain bike I was a little unsure that I'd want to be clipped in on steep descents but love clips for long flats or uphill. I thought this would offer the best of both worlds. However when you want to be clipped you have to manipulate the pedals to make sure the clip side is up and when you don't want to be clipped, right in the middle of a steep descent I sometimes feel the unwanted click of the clip engaging. I realize now that its better to make up your mind. clipless pedals with clips on both sides or platforms.
