I have experienced tremendous relief from leg pain and fatigue since I started using these compression stockings on my "bad leg". I have energy to walk and stand. These stockings are already making a big difference in the quality of my life. I recommend the "open toe" over the "closed toe" version because it is easier to get more of a custom fit with the "open toe" style. In addition, the stockings stay cleaner because you can wear socks over the stocking and change your socks rather than having to worry about washing the stocking every day. The other plus is that I have found that the "open toe" style is easier to put on. I also measured the open vs. closed toe of the same brand and same size and the "closed toe" style seems to be longer from the knee band to the ankle - and I don't need this extra length. I am not sure if it was a production error, since the measurements on the box are the same. The closed toe style adds extra fabric in the toe area. I wear socks over the stocking - another reason that I prefer the open toe style.These stockings are fairly durable, but they will catch or get a run if you rub up against a rough surface. I had to apply a small amount of nail polish to a run in the stocking.January 8, 2012These compression stockings are still the best treatment that I have found for addressing my leg pain and tiredness. I wear them most of the time, and when I don't, I feel the difference after just a short period of time.Even if your circulation is good, you should consider buying a pair of these for airplane travel - better safe than sorry.
