The stitches do not slip off these needles and since I am tackling a lace doily pattern, they have come in very handy. I am so glad they are long too - that was primarily why I went on a needle hunt on the web and these were the only long double point needles I could find! If I found some metal ones, I would buy them too.I have not used the very small ones for much, but the bamboo seems pretty strong. Also, there was more than one set per size, a mistake on their part, and that's alright - I have plenty of needles now!
