The fabric feels like women's swimsuits (not like the fabric mens swim shorts are made of). They fit snuggly (like bathing suit bottoms do) and comfortably hug my body. Although a more snug fit, they do not squeeze the thighs or waste, but instead flatter my body with a smooth, non chunky look. The length is just what I was hoping for! I'm 5'4 and they fall about two inches above the knee which makes me feel more confident swimming in public or participating in water sports. The waist line falls just below my belly button, and during swimming the waist line does not move. However, the shorts do ride up on my thighs while swimming or walking around in them, so I'm constantly pulling them back down my thighs when I'm walking around or when I get out of the water. But I also have pretty thick thighs that rub, and so I expect them to ride up since ALLL of my shorts do that lol. They have built in underwear inside of the shorts, which is greatly appreciated when I haven't shaved, but they're a bit weird to me. The built in underwear just don't fit as perfectly as the shorts that house them. Perhaps because the waist of the underwear is sewn into the waist of the shorts, so they don't cover the entire pubic area (not that it matters bc the shorts do fully cover). I guess I would compare what's going on there to if you wore "bikini" bottoms that are supposed to sit around the hips, but they're being pulled up toward your naval in a wedgie type manner, without actually feeling a wedgie. Overall though, I'm very happy with these shorts even if I'm constantly pulling the legs back down my big ole' thighs! They're slimming and boost confidence!
