This rug is great for an apartment living room, or maybe a tea room that gets lots of sunlight. The pile is low, but the rug is soft when you walk on it. When I open the blinds in the morning, this rug really lights up brightly, giving the living room a sense of space that we didn't experience before. The texture of the rug belies its polyester composition. The woven threads appear to be made of natural fibers. I do not get a sense of plasticity, or I should say "man-made cheapie," when I walk on it. Some reviewers have complained that the rug is cheap and too colorful. But the manufacturer does not market this product as plush, or super high-end. This rug came well-packaged, did not have a rubbery smell, neither looks nor feels cheap in the apartment where it is being used. I definitely recommend this rug, if only for the bright, uplifting mood it adds to the living room.
