Compared to the VAX 1700, it a little harder. But the brush sticks to the carpet so that it comes off with difficulty. Apparently because of the structurally tighter fit to the floor. The reliability of the eyelets for fastening the dust collector covers is in doubt, but the plastic is strong enough. I think this is a weak spot. The rest of the vacuum cleaner is excellent.
