This type of hat is in much demand now with our ageing population & their dermatological conditions. Also, they have come to be considered necessary equipment for many types of fishermen, hikers, backpackers and other outdoor types.I have purchased (in the last year) half a dozen or so of these types of hats for use in both working and recreational activities outdoors, this one is mid-range for cost in this group.I like it the best. The stitching is 1st class as are the materials. It is very comfortable (most are very stiff). The size (for me) of the brim is ideal, other hats range from not enough protection to making me feel like I'm under a WW 2 poncho pushing down on my head. I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability but based on the obvious quality of materials and craftsmanship I have every reason to believe it will last long enough to have a long life as my favorite old summer hat.
