My daughter loves this; very soft and fun to create. I wanted the containers so that I didn't have to bother with bags. We had one container that had a broken lid so a small portion of the clay was dried but otherwise good. I think the tools are helpful for any kit you buy, but the booklet was a little pointless (not really step by step and it just leaves you disappointed ha). But just let the kids be creative. However, my advice is to have them make a plan in advance. For more advanced ideas, the clay can start to dry out if you take too long, even as you're working with it (esp if really small parts) making it difficult to stick together. This set is fine, but it would've been nice if it came with keychain parts too.
