I am 5'3 & weigh 138 lbs. I normally wear a medium in everything, so I ordered a medium and couldn't get it fastened. I reread the reviews and some thought we should go 2 sizes larger. Ordered an XL. My waist is 33 inches & I found it to be too large on the top and barely closed on the waist and stomach, which made it uncomfortable to wear for long hours. I'm not sure this is the right waist tightener if you have most of your weight in stomach area. Other than that, it is very well made and the stays are not uncomfortable. Will keep trying it to see if I can get my waist down enough for it to fit properly.
