In spite of the fact that it was still feasible to drive with most of the spikes in place, I am already purchasing a replacement set (the first one lasted me four years). I didn't even consider alternatives before purchasing (I travel a lot, so I have anything to compare them to). Even at today's prices, it's still a good deal. There are no such things as comfortable or safe tires.
