The issue of an LED bulb not being able to completely shut off, may apply to most LED microwave light bulbs, not just this one.As many people have pointed out, this one is bright enough on the High setting, it does flicker on the Low setting, but it also only goes to very dim in the Off setting (it can't be shut off completely). I can only surmise that the Control Board on our Maytag microwave (as most other microwaves), is not designed to handle an LED bulb over an incandescent bulb. But it may also be the way LED appliance bulbs are designed as well. Suffice to say, either the microwaves or the LED bulbs or a combination of the two, doesn't allow for the bulb to shut off completely.That may not matter to some but there are potentially two issues. One; what is the lifespan when the bulb is on 24/7? Most bulbs give you a lifespan based a few hours of use per day. Even though it's at a reduced output, it's still burning all day, every day. The second issue is, if I'm gone from the house for an extended time, I want to have control of the things that remain on. Do I want to remove the glass from under the microwave every time I want it completely off?Your mileage may vary.
