Not bad. I would say it's better than nothing at all, for sure! I'd be scared to have my laptop without a case on it. Easy to get on, kinda hard to get off.I've gotten this case in several different colors, most recently in the Deep Teal. The first one I got was Rose Quartz, and I loved it, SUCH a pretty color, but eventually the matte coating started to come off (see picture) and it just looked a bit sad and flaky. So I got a new one in Marsala Red--again, a beautiful color without a matte finish, but I did crack it. So I splurged and got another one even though the crack isn't that bad, getting the Deep Teal.The Deep Teal is super pretty too, however, it smudges very easily and the smudges do NOT want to come off, even with glass cleaner or lens cleaner (see picture).As for the keyboard cover, they've all done a good job at keeping crumbs and dust and crap out of my keyboard, but it does slow my typing down. Macs already don't have very clicky keyboards, and this makes it a bit squishy and slightly harder to type. But it's not the end of the world if you wanna make sure your keys stay clean. It does tend to wear out--like if you play a lot of Minecraft, you will wear holes in your WASD keys and spacebar. Speaking from experience. It does fine for quite awhile with moderate use.My brother had the Black color for about 4 years and it was so cracked and missing so many chunks that I finally convinced him to replace it. So, note: if you're going to be carrying it around a lot, perhaps around campus, make sure you're careful with it if you want to make it last.In conclusion, the durability/smugdge-proof-ness of the color depends on what color you get. Lighter colors might not be as smudgy, but ones with matte finishes might wear out.
