These run a little small in my book - my thin 7yr old who needs a 6 for her waist, but a 7 for length fits in these on the small end of perfect. I would recommend sizing up. Otherwise material is nice, but not thick. Stitching is done well with no errors. Fabric is soft, but not super soft - just basic sweats kind of soft. They are pleasant enough, but probably won't work for kids with super severe sensory issues. MY daughter wears them, but they aren't her favorite - she just knows I don't let some pants go to the barn. :) They don't shrink a lot, but do a little. Overall we like these, but do size up!
