It is great to have a sun hat that is foldable. My previous straw hat is pretty beat up from years of use while gardening. I like that it protects the neck from the sun. This hat was too large for me. My head measures 21 3/4 inches. I failed to notice a velcro strap inside as stated in the questions. However, I hand sewed an inch wide elastic inside of the band after I adjusted it to fit my head. Seems it will work well. Was concerned that the hat might be hot, however it seems to be comfortable.
