Love the product but every time I go to use it (especially with steam iron) the foul fecal/ammonia smell penetrates the room. I put it outside the day I received it because it stunk so bad! Sprayed it with microban hoping it would help (briefly) again left it outside in sunshine for 3 days/nights. By 4th day sniffed and seemed ok, then went to use the steam iron on it & stench came back immediately. I’m willing to bet the wool was not properly cleaned of animal soiling and the smell is permanent.Functionally it does perform properly- if you can get past the smell being left on the item you are pressing/ ironing. I can’t use it for that reason - smell stays on the items I’m ironing.
