This thing is a lifesaver for pulling big items, but you will have to anchor it somewhere as durable, like a bit tree or another car, etc. By itself, it will pretty much pull it's weight toward whichever heavy object it's trying to pull. I do like that it pulls both ways, meaning it pulls and also lets go mechanically. I originally thought this would be so great as a pulley when my husband needs to cut trees up high, but then I get nervous and wonder if it's fail proof. It's also very expensive. I think I would feel safer if it's just used to pull things horizontally for now.
