This is an excellent mattress protector/cover. I needed one designed for an deep mattress because I have a fairly thick memory foam topper on top of the mattress. I don't particularly care for the topper but my husband likes it, so I usually layer two mattress protectors at a time, so I don't really notice it is there, and we are both happy. I wanted to have a back-up, just in case I fall behind on laundry day, so I ordered this one. Actually, this turned out to be nicer than one of the mattress protectors already on the bed, so that one will now become back-up and I'm using this new one. It fits perfectly, and feels thick and quite soft. I was concerned that since the top part wasn't cotton, the polyester material wouldn't be breathable or would feel too hot, but that was not the case. Once the sheets were on, the bed looked great and felt cool and comfortable. This has only been on the bed for a week or so (it has been washed once so far, with no issues) and I'm happy with it so far. The mattress protector I received didn't arrive in a vacuum bag, but it was well-packaged. It is thicker and heavier than expected; in fact it is probably one of the nicest mattress protectors I have run across in recent years.This protector is well made and the fabric feels durable. The elastic extends all the way around and the protector stays in place. All of the seams are well sewn. At the current price of $48.99, this mattress protector is a little more expensive than what I would usually choose (I am usually looking in the $35.00 to $40.00 range), but it is also a little more luxurious than what I end up with, so at this point, I think it is worth the additional cost. If this mattress protector should wear out prematurely, lose elasticity or otherwise happen to fail to meet my expectations, I will update this review.
