This is a great yoga mat. it had no smell out of the box. It was very cushioning even on my hardwood floors but it seemed stable enough to stand on and have good support. It seemed pretty grippy although I used it for strengthening exercises and not for yoga so I can’t say how it would hold up if you were sweating. I sent it back because I needed a wider one for my purposes. I wished this company had a wide version because I really liked the amount of cushioning.
